Southeast Asia Cryptocurrency Financing Recovers to $680 Million, Capital Accelerates Concentration in Mature Enterprises

The financing market for the blockchain industry in Southeast Asia is emerging from the downturn of 2025. Data shows that since the beginning of this year, blockchain companies in the region have raised a cumulative $680 million. However, this recovery has not been driven by an increase in the number of financing projects, but is instead more reflected in investors concentrating funds on crypto financial services and enterprises at more mature stages of development.

The latest report released by market intelligence platform Tracxn shows that Southeast Asian blockchain companies have cumulatively received $680 million in financing so far in 2026, a figure that is already more than twice the $319 million raised for the whole of 2025.

However, in terms of financing rounds, market activity has not increased simultaneously. So far in 2026, only 25 financing rounds have been completed, compared with 46 for the whole of 2025. By comparison, the region completed 206 financing rounds in 2022. The simultaneous increase in financing amounts and decline in the number of rounds reflects that capital allocation in the current market is gradually concentrating on a small number of mature enterprises.

Among them, the $400 million Series D financing completed by cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com became the largest single financing deal this year, accounting for nearly 60% of Southeast Asia's total financing for the year.

In terms of sub-sectors, crypto financial services are the direction receiving the most capital investment this year. In 2026, the sector completed a total of 19 financing rounds, with total financing reaching $498 million, an increase of 48.4% year-on-year. Tokenization platforms ranked second, receiving $114 million in financing; decentralized application development platforms attracted $77 million in funds.

Although the scale of financing has clearly recovered this year, there is still a large gap compared with the previous market peak. The Southeast Asian blockchain industry raised $2.2 billion in 2022, fell sharply to $386 million in 2023, and then the financing scale recovered to $804 million in 2025.

In terms of the financing stages of enterprises, the capital distribution of the Southeast Asian blockchain industry shows an obvious “funnel” characteristic.

Among the 3,957 blockchain companies tracked by Tracxn, 1,323 have received equity financing, but only 167 have actually entered Series A or later stages. Among them, 50 companies have reached the Series B financing stage, only 14 have entered Series C, while only 4 companies have completed Series D or higher-stage financing.

This means that as the financing market gradually tightens, a large number of early-stage blockchain companies have not entered subsequent financing stages, and the number of enterprises able to continuously attract capital is relatively limited.

Singapore Holds Absolute Dominance

In terms of regional distribution, blockchain financing in Southeast Asia is highly concentrated in Singapore.

Tracxn data shows that of the cumulative $6.2 billion in blockchain financing in Southeast Asia, Singaporean companies accounted for 82.5% of the financing, and Singapore is also the location of 2,285 of the blockchain companies being tracked. In comparison, Jakarta, Indonesia, is the second-largest financing center in the region, but its share of financing is only 3%.

Corporate exits from the market also show an uneven pattern. Tracxn statistics show that there have been 43 acquisitions in the Southeast Asian blockchain industry to date, but only 4 initial public offering (IPO) cases. Among them, SBI Group's acquisition of Singapore blockchain company CoinHako this year, and Bybit's acquisition of NOBI, are both relevant exit cases.

Although the financing environment is still significantly distant from the 2022 peak, the Southeast Asian blockchain market has already cultivated 6 blockchain unicorn enterprises, including Sygnum, Bitkub, Sky Mavis and Amber Group.

Overall, the Southeast Asian blockchain investment market showed a recovery trend in 2026, but the scale of funds has not yet returned to the high level of 2022. Compared with the situation in the past, when capital was broadly deployed across early-stage projects, current investment is more concentrated in the crypto financial services sector and enterprises that have already reached relatively mature stages of development.
